Battleground State Polls Due Out Thursday Morning

Last week’s presidential debate continues to dominate the airwaves.
Republicans are still euphoric over the new found humanity displayed by the ever robotic Romney.  Democrats continue to run through the streets with their hair on fire over the inexplicable collapse of the chosen one.
To Republicans and Democrats alike we offer this bit of advice.
CHILL!
The recently released PEW and GALLUP polls show that Romney got a nice bump from his performance.  But while PEW shows Romney ahead by 3 points among likely voters it shows Obama up by 5 points among registered voters.  The GALLUP tracking poll is a daily snapshot and as such is subject to drastic daily fluctuations.  And ANY poll that shows ANY candidate losing an 18 point gender gap lead in one 24 hour period must be an outlier.
Both PEW and GALLUP are national polls.  They don’t dig down to the information that really tells us what’s going on in this race.  They don’t tell us where things stand in the key battleground states of New Hampshire, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada and Florida.
Thursday morning, reputable polling agencies  such as  ABCNEWS/WASHINTON POST , NBC/WALL STREET JOURNAL, QUINNIPIAC , MARIST  and others will release their  poll findings in these key battleground states.  Then and only then will we have a good understanding of the effects of last week’s debate.
That is, at least for the moment.
All you partisan crazies out there should understand that whatever the results, you can expect these numbers to change after tens of millions of Americans watch Vice President Biden debate Congressman Ryan later that same night.
And don’t forget…there are still two more presidential debates to factor in before the polls open.  Even Republicans expect the president to improve on his comatose performance of last week.
So to all the gloating Republicans and sack cloth wearing Democrats, we suggest that you remember the words of the noted philosopher Yogi Berra who famously said:
“It ain’t over til' it’s over.”
